Can I eat after I got some white pus out of my tonsils? Please HEPL, HUNGRY and painful :,,<<<?

It's bank holidays, can't see a GP. Tried to get some shite stuff out of those swollen tonsils with the cotton swab immersed in iodine, managed to get a of couple white bits out. I think this reduced the pain when I swallow or speak a little bit.
Trouble is that I'm afraid to eat now. I already have to get all the ''strength'' to take a sip of water
but what if I eat and food particles will get into the cavities where those white bits resided before I removed them? :((((((
