I think this is crazy that they're going to put Harriet Tubman on the $20 bill, I mean come on that's ridiculous. They should have to put the confederate flag on the back of it. I'm an 18 year old girl and this even irritates me. What do you think? I love the confederate flag.

Why would the United States of America put the battle flag of an opposing army on the currency? You can love whatever you want (being that this is America and all) but no, that doesn't make any sense.
I'm curious, what's so ridiculous about putting a historical figure on money? She helped free slaves, so that's good. Unless you think slavery shouldn't have ended...

The Confederate flag has done nothing for this country. When Southerners say the war was not about slavery, but state rights. I ask them, exactly what right were they being denied? Freedom of Speech? The right to bear arms? The right to vote? There is only one right they were in jeopardy of being denied at the time.... the right to own slaves. That is not actually a right. No one has the right to own slaves. So they basically fought for a false right.
It's funny when you ask a Southerner what right was being denied? They just sort of hem and haw, but can't come up with any specifics. Well, the history is... they were fighting for the right to own slaves. Of course, they say we were fighting for a way of life. Again, what specifically in that "way of life" were you fighting for? Once again it points back to "the right to own slaves." Even the great CSA General Robert E. Lee saw himself as a traitor for breaking his Westpoint graduation oath to defend his country from all enemies "foreign and DOMESTIC." The South, instead of using due process in the Congress chose to break the United States because they knew the North would vote slavery out. Northerners outnumbered Southerners in voting population. Well, that's how it works in democracy--you don't always get what you want. It doesn't mean you pick up arms and kill your neighbor. The South was only in danger of losing one right. The right to own slaves. And that is not a "right."

I think Andrew Jackson was a true patriot. He fought the banks even though he owned slaves and did the trail of tears. I like how people like to point out the bad things but never see the good.
