It is known that
(1) the specific latent heat of melting or fusion for ice is 33.5  104 J kg-1;
(2) the specific heat capacity of water is 4200 J Kg-1 ˚C-1; and
(3) the specific latent heat of vaporization for water is 22.6  105 J kg-1.

Calculate the heat energy required to totally evaporate 10 kg of ice at the starting temperature of 0˚C.

E=mlf+mcΔT+mlv
=10(33.5) +10(4200)(100-0) +10(104)
=4201375J
