Atheists do you have friends ?

Yes
But we dump OUR imaginary ones around the age of five!

I am a loner by nature. I do have friends, many of them religious. I don't mind being friends with religious people so long as they don't annoy me to much with preaching or trying to convert me.

I also dislike people disrupting my lifestyle or my routine unless that somebody is really special.
2016-04-21 11:01 pm
Many, and varied.
Real people.
2016-04-21 11:01 pm
Atheists tend to be very much into individualism, so they generally don't feel the need to belong to clubs or organizations so this usually limits their number of friends.
2016-04-25 12:30 pm
Of course we do, but only imaginary, made up friends who are invisible and all-powerful and immortal...and they are REAL because I read this really old book that told me they were there and I had to be their friend or when I die they would be very unhappy. I heart my invisible friends.
2016-04-21 11:05 pm
Sure, I distance people but I would say have a group of friends. Why do you ask? Do you think atheists can't/don't make friends?
2016-04-21 11:29 pm
A few that I would deem as 'friends' and many more acquaintances...

One true 'friend' is worth a lot of acquaintances...

IMHO

Just like everyone else, yes.

I dont know why you spend so much time thinking about people you hate.
參考: i'm not even atheist
2016-04-21 10:59 pm
Sure.

Do you have any? And by friends.... I don't mean fellow cult members that are forced to hang out with you to feed their personal delusion once or twice a week..... I mean people that actually hang out with you because they like you.
2016-04-25 11:07 am
Yes .. but they have to be clean and well laundered.
參考: That was the section you asked the question in .. wasn't it ?
2016-04-23 6:31 pm
LOL yeah I make my friends wash their clothes, their car and take a shower since this is in the cleaning selection. What does someone relgion or belief have to do with friends I do not know.
2016-04-23 1:23 pm

2016-04-22 3:20 pm
Why do you ask ,Of course i do . I have Many great friends . Did that "good book " say we would not have any friends .Or do you always ask such asinine questions .
2016-04-21 11:43 pm
No I don't have one friend they call me billy no mates
2016-04-21 11:02 pm
yes. Of all sexes, colours and religions.
2016-04-22 6:55 am
yes. and many of my friends believe in a diety too. Cannot see why my logical thinking of not believing in invisible diety or fairies at bottom of a garden has any bearing on normal human activity and interaction such as freindship.

Atheism is, in the broadest sense, the absence of belief in the existence of deities.[1][2][3][4] Less broadly, atheism is the rejection of belief that any deities exist.[5][6] In an even narrower sense, atheism is specifically the position that there are no deities.[1][2][7] Atheism is contrasted with theism,[8][9] which, in its most general form, is the belief that at least one deity exists.[9][10][11]

The term "atheism" originated from the Greek ἄθεος (atheos), meaning "without god(s)", used as a pejorative term applied to those thought to reject the gods worshiped by the larger society.[12] With the spread of freethought, skeptical inquiry, and subsequent increase in criticism of religion, application of the term narrowed in scope. The first individuals to identify themselves using the word "atheist" lived in the 18th century during the Age of Enlightenment.[13] The French Revolution, noted for its "unprecedented atheism," witnessed the first major political movement in history to advocate for the supremacy of human reason.

I have LOTS of friends. I work as a bartender in a social club and I am also a performing musician (lead singer) and I meet new people and make new friends everyday. I am also a dyed-in-the-wool atheist, yet I am educated in different religious philosophies (I was educated at an all-girls Catholic school & when I attended university, I studied world religions & philosophy, just out of curiosity). I never knock a person who has religious beliefs, anyone who does that is a douchebag, atheist or otherwise. What I don't understand is the constant questions put to atheists regarding all aspects of personal life. I am not supposed to question someone else's blind faith, but they can assume I am a sad loner with no friends and nobody who would want to hang out my boring, godless person. Atheists exist in every facet of daily life. We just don't feel like shouting it from the rooftops or spewing vitriol into other people's faces, like some religious nuts are keen to do to anyone & everyone.

I'm pretty sure they do as religion doesn't really interfere with friendships that much these days. Well as far as my experience with others in life.
2016-04-26 1:53 am

Adults are able to disagree and remain friends.

I have adult friends of every religious choice, plus children of a list of religious choices that don't include yours.

In my opinion, they seem to treat everything strictly around them without any enthusiasm; as the result, they tend to be secretive and don't believe anyone else or even very hard to communicate with others.
