If you are in control then you are not alcoholic. So many people just drink at the time of dinner because they like to. Cheers:)

It's not so much about loving it, it's being able to stop before blacking out or passing out more consistently than not.

You don't have to get drunk to be an alcoholic. Feeling the 'need' to have a drink to take the edge off every day every night or after a stressful situation means you're addicted.
If you have a glass of wine with dinner every night you aren't necessarily an alcoholic.
Ask yourself why you're drinking. And answer honestly. People who make excuses tend to be having a problem. And alcoholism is a symptom of underlying problems/ It is not the problem itself. Once you understand taht you can figure out if you are an alcoholic. I drink alcohol- that does not mean I'm an alcoholic automatically. I don't drink alcohol- doesn't mean I'm without problems/ See what I mean?
I like single malt scotch and I like win with dinner and I love a beer with my nachos, and I like coconut rum I brought b ack from Jamaica with me. But I don't drink to avoid dealing with other things in life. And you don't need to drink every single day to be an alcoholic.

It depends on how much you drink, some people drink to unwind and they only have a small amount and don't get intoxicated. I would say if you start feeling like you can't go without it, then there's reason to worry.
