Oh yes - that will blow your brain completely out. You do want to use a good big bullet - I know a lady who shot herself twice in the head with a .22 and didn't even lose consciousness. Apparently they left the bullets in there too rather than go in and get them.

So you need something that will really tear stuff up. A lot of the killing power of a bullet is in the tremendous force that it generates - not just the chunk of lead itself. Just the muzzle blast can disrupt tissue

you wouldnt be the first person to attempt suicide only to find yourself hospital with a section of skull or jaw blown away but still very much alive though somewhat less for the experience
