Cam you describe Stanley Cavelle's philosophy in plain English?

I have read some of his writings and have no clue what he is talking about. Trying to help a friend who is in college.

Professor Cavell is a mensch. He does philosophy by interacting with others, their writings and art. To understand his orientation, see J. L. Austin's "How to Do Things with Words." Austin taught Cavell. The object of ordinary language philosophy is to understand by more fully understanding our everyday language.
