What do you think of the name Pepper for a girl?

My husband is dead set on Pepper Ann (Ann is his mother's name and I have no problem making that the middle name if we have a little girl). I personally don't like it, especially since his best friend and his aunt both have dogs named Pepper that this child will grow up playing with!

更新2:

I should probably add that we already have one child named for a cartoon character. Our daughter's name is April after the TMNT character that my hubby was obsessed with as a kid. Ever since he saw the show for the first time, he said if he ever had a daughter, he'd name her April.

I like nicknames as first names, but Pepper just feels so insubstantial. It's a savoury seasoning, not a name, in my personal opinion. And Pepper Ann is actually a cartoon character. If you don't like the name then he's going to have to find something that you can both agree on, simple as.

I am not a fan. It would be okay as a nickname for Patricia or Priscilla or even Penelope. Give the child a REAL first name and call her Pepper if you want to.

Yeah, Pepper Ann is a cartoon character from years ago. It's an okay name, but not big on it. Agree the dogs sharing it is a little awkward, at least until the dogs are gone.

If he already got to name one, then you should definitely have the final say on the first name this time... And if you don't like it then he can settle on keeping his mom's name included... that or nothing. lol

It's a cute name, but really should only be used for a nickname. I say that because it can and most likely will be used by peers to make fun of her. "Hey! Salt and Pepper is here!" and everyone laughs. Not good.

I actually think it's really cute! It reminds me of the orphan girl named Pepper in Annie! I don't think I would use it as a full name (probably just as a nickname for Philippa or Penelope), but I think it's could work! Although, if you don't like it, then try to talk him into another name! Also, he named the last baby so I think you should have more of a say this time. Have you considered Pippa? It's pretty close to Pepper. I hope this helped?
