I'm on a writers block. Can anyone help me for this next scene?

That is not writer's block. You just don't have an entire story to write. Now, why would you have this guy find a VHS tape and have no idea what this has to do with your story? It's ridiculous.

Okay, this isn't writer's block. It's a lack of planning. You don't know your story. What's his final goal? What does he hope to achieve? What's the conflict he has to solve to end the story? What do you want for your character at the end of the story? Use that to figure out what's on the tape. Then complicate matters.

For example, if his goal is to get home, the tape might tell him there's a secret tunnel that leads back to his dimension. But it's inside the villain's base. Or if you want him to become king of this new dimension, the tape might be a recording from the old king, telling the location of the hidden crown that will unlock the hero's power. But it's hidden at the top of a mountain guarded by a dragon.

You might also consider your character. Maybe he refuses to watch the tape at all, because he refuses to believe that he's not hallucinating. Maybe he destroys the tape, and the two people who are helping him get angry. They abandon him, and he's forced to earn back their trust.

Brainstorm for a bit. Play What If. What if the hero needs to meet someone who can help him develop his magical abilities? What if he needs to meet someone who will betray him? What if he gives up? What if he betrays his new friends? What if the house they are at catches on fire? What if he gets drunk and falls into the river? What if he gets a girl pregnant? What if he gets addicted to a drug?

Playing What If can open up avenues for the story you didn't even consider.

You know what kind of story you want to tell, so really think about it.
