The only good thing about the Westboro Baptists is that they show regular people how wacky it is to take religious beliefs to an extreme.

Westboro was even denounced by Pat Robertson.
On a scale of extremities, that's off the charts.
I'm atheist but find equating all Christians to Westboro equal to equating all Muslims with Jihadists. I'm pretty anti-religion, but try not to overgeneralize like some people do.

Most likely, most Christians have never heard of that church and know nothing about it and so have no opinion regarding whether or not it is tolerable.

Tolerable? Most Christians disagree strongly with the Westboro Baptist Church. Not sure how you get "tolerable" out of that.
