Yes, God is real, that is great that you found that out. There are many atheists that have converted to Catholicism. You can listen to the story of Jennifer Fulwiler below, she was raised an Atheist but now has converted to the Catholic Church because she saw it is the truth.

You aren't an atheist anymore if you believe in a God.
You're stupid enough that you'll blend right in.
Only you can decide this for yourself.
If you are interested in joining or just learning more about Christianity and the Catholic Church, contact your local parish and ask for information about their RCIA Inquiry group. You can go and ask any questions you want.
This is the first step in RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults) but you can stop at any time. There is no obligation to become a Catholic.

With love and prayers in Christ.
It's up to you, so I don't know why you'd ask a bunch of strangers on the internet.
You should study the Bible and find the true religion.

That's your call. And God judges us for our choices.
You are clearly not an atheist. The only way you could fall for that bullsh!t is a severe bran injury.
John 1:1 proves God as much as Star Wars "a new hope" proves Darth vader.
I once wrote a story about how my cat accidentally ate god when god was hanging out as a bird. My cat became god and went back in time to recreate the universe.
In my story it says it's true. My cat IS God the story says so. That's exactly how the bible tries to prove god.
????? You are atheist yet you believe god is real?
A New Version of the Four Gospels, published under the pseudonym “A Catholic.” It says: Men of every persuasion find the confirmation of their peculiar opinions in the sacred volumes: for, in fact, it is not the Scripture that informs them, but they that affix their own meaning to the language of Scripture.
Though the point is well taken, what was the writer’s intent?
His comment was in support of his interpretation of that verse, which he translated: “At the beginning was the word; and the word was with God; and the word’ was God, a typical Trinitarian rendition.
What impelled the writer to translate John 1:1 in support of the Trinitarian doctrine? Is it the Scripture that informs him to do so?
That is impossible, for nowhere in the Bible is the teaching of the Trinity to be found.
Note what The New Encyclopædia Britannica says on this point: Neither the word Trinity nor the explicit doctrine appears in the New Testament. In addition, Yale University professor E. Washburn Hopkins observed: To Jesus and Paul the doctrine of the trinity was apparently unknown; they say nothing about it.
What, can we conclude about those who support a Trinitarian interpretation of John 1:1 or any other Bible verse?
By Mr. Lingard’s own criterion, it is not the Scripture that informs them, but they that affix their own meaning to the language of Scripture.
You're either lying, or not thinking very well. You believe in a god because something you read said that it was true?? What person over the age of 7 thinks like that?
Islam is the only true religion

If you feel that you are ready to be a Catholic then be one but be a spiritual believer not a Catholic that only care for beauty and worldly things.
You mean that "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God." is enough to sway you?
If that is so, here is something: there is no god, and the bible is 100% baloney.
Attend a few sermons at a First Southern Baptist Church before you commit to joining the Church of the Pope ( a mere man, not God).
not catholic, maybe baptist
I've read several different versions of the bible many times, and god is a silly myth. The bible is nothing more than a collection of fairy tales.
Listen, if it makes you happy, feel free to believe whatever you want, but don't expect to be able to rationally argue for the existence of some mythical skydaddy.
I suggest a good local Protestant church of your choice.
No stay atheist, its the best thing to do. If you stay a good person then any real god would accept you because you don't want to be catholic and it turns out budha is real
YOU ARE NOT AN ATHEIST,and you have never been one,a true atheist would not look at a Bible, let alone read one,it is now accepted that the Bible is the Greatest book of fiction ever written by mortal man,and in prose and content is no better than an adventure COMIC ok.
If you believe a god claim, you are not an atheist because the only requirement for atheists is that we don't believe a god claim is justified because none have met the burden of proof. Hope this helps.
