How do I get my parents to buy me an iPhone?

Alright, so I've been asking for a phone for 2 years. I know it's a privilege, but I honestly deserve it. I'm about to graduate and go to Washington D.C. so my parents realize I actually need one now. My mom said she'd give me her Samsung Galaxy S5 and buy a new one for herself. I really don't want to sound ungrateful but I've been wanting an iPhone for so long. They have better camera quality and more features for entertainment and safety. How do I get her to buy me an iPhone instead, without sounding selfish and ungrateful. I am grateful, but it'd be nice to receive something I want. She doesn't like contracts and the 6s is expensive. I'd be good with the 6c or 5s.

Buy one yourself.

First of all, you got the names wrong: it's not 6c and 5s..... it's 6s and 5c (but there is a 5s). Second, if you are about to graduate and move to Washington D.C., you should have your own money now and you could buy it for yourself now. Maybe hold on for another year and save your money... that's what I did! Hope this helps!

Consider asking them for last year's model of the iPhone isntead of the more expensive latest device. the iPhone 5S and 5C are great options and they always download the latest version of iOS. The 6 is very expensive still so the price is partly to blame for them not being too keen on the idea of letting you get that. Honestly, I would take the S5 and try to sell it in order to earn your own money and save up for the iPhone you want. That will show initiative and motivation and they will be proud of you for making a good money-making decision. I don't know which carrier you have but if it's Tmobile it will be 10x easier to do that.

Try for a 5, 5c, or 5s and go for one that's refurbished because it'll be cheaper than something new. If ur mom doesn't have lot of money to splurge on a phone for u then don't demand something expensive. I have a 4s and I had a 5 before that. Prices for the 5s might decrease tomorrow when the SE is released. I already see signs of a cheaper price in some places.

If ur okay with a 5c then u can find them less than $130 on groupon. I was close to buying an i5s recently because groupon had a $40 off coupon and it would have made the price $149. Phones sold through groupon are refurbished. The price changes and sometimes the same phone can sell for different prices because different retailers list them. I always compare groupon against the prices on Amazon to see if I'm getting a deal or not, but groupon is "safer" to buy from.

If u want someone to buy you something then don't make it a financial hardship for them. No one DESERVES an expensive phone. U seem annoyingly spoiled.

You can ask that everyone that is getting you anything for graduation, to put money into your cell phone fund. Send that out the graduation inventions and announcements. And then buy it yourself, and don't expect anyone to buy it for you. I get that you do not want mom's used phone, but it's a phone to tide you over until you can buy the phone of your dreams. Then get a job and start earning money to pay for your account AHEAD of time, so you don't have to worry about your phone bill.

Yes it is nice to get something you want, but a gift is a gift, if you don't like the gift, say Thank you, anyway and sell the gift, and put it toward that iPhone fund.

Just tell them you really want an iPhone badly and tell them why.
