Does it make me a bad mom that my 11 month old won t use a regular sippy cup but he wants one with a straw?

He hates any and every sippy cup unless it has a straw and my mother in law says that were making him lazy because of that. I don t see why that makes him lazy we taught him early on how to drink out of a straw.

I wouldn't worry about it. Mother in laws make big, stupid deals out of NOTHING. For no reason.

What she means is that he won't learn to "tip" the cup to take a drink. Let me know in 17 years if this is an issue...hahaha.

Your child is fine, why try to fight or argue with a 11 month old about something that matters none?

Tell your mother in law, that you got this.

No it doesn't make you a bad mom at all, he's still drinking out of something so what does it matter if it's a regular sippy cup or a straw one.

Your mother-in-law sounds like she just wants to pick on you for not making decisions the way she wants you too.

Why would that make you a bad mother? Why are you allowing your mother-in-law to bully you?

Mothers-in-law really need to butt out. You are not a bad Mum at all. If he wants one with a straw, let him have it. He will use a normal cup eventually.

Speech therapists actually recommend straw cups over sippy cups. Learning to use a straw is better for mouth development.

If this is your mother in law's biggest concern about her grandchild, you and your husband must be excellent parents.
