don't drink a lot of alcohol. Maybe one beer a week. The occasional cocktail if someone offers me one at a party. I don't actually enjoy being drunk, I don't see what's so great about it.

This last Winter I fell in love with cocoa, a cup before going to bed to help me sleep. And I love it with a little peppermint schnapps in it. Not even enough to feel the alcohol, just to give it flavor.

When I was young, all my friends drank way too much their first time. They'd go to a party or something where alcohol was available, where nobody was watching, and they'd just drink and drink. Then they'd throw up or pass out and spend the night on the bathroom floor, and feel sick for days. This was kind of a rite of passage for kids 16, 17, 18 years old when I was that age, and I don't doubt kids do it today too. I saw all my friends doing that so I never had that experience.

Yes.

Because there are things inside me that I need to kill.

No, I don't. I don't like to feel out of control. Makes me very uncomfortable. Once in a while I'll have a beer or two, but that's only like once a year.

I do. Sometimes. If I'm on call for my job, I'm not allowed so that takes care of a lot of the time. Having drinks with family or friends is a sign that it's time for everyone to relax and feel at home. It's hospitality. It's traditional in every culture and in moderation, it's been discovered to be good for your heart and circulatory system. SO, where's the harm?
EDIT; I think whether they do or do not is up to the individual. The only people I don't care for are the ones who sit about in tight-lipped, unconcealed disapproval while everyone else has a glass of wine.

Yes, more or less daily.

Why? Because I love it, both the taste of it (Lagavulin - mmm...), and the effect.

Yes. (1) I like the taste of beer, wine, and various liquors (mostly whiskey and gin). (2) I find it to be a pleasant way to occasionally end an evening after a successful day working. (3) Because I can, and I find not being a teetotaller useful in social situations.

I don't drink often. A six pack of beer will last me a month or more, and I have a couple bottles of whiskey in my cabinet I bought over a year ago. My grandfather was an alcoholic, so I am mindful of that and limit myself accordingly, but I do enjoy a dram or draught from time to time.

In moderation, yes. I like it.

Of course. Usually good beer and I drink it because I like it and it's good for me.

No, I never did and I'll never do it, unhealthy waste of s***.
