You don't. The orientation is important to how the compressor does its work, the oil has to stay in the compressor and the liquid and gas phases of the refrigerant can be in the wrong places of the refrigerant tubes if the refrigerator is laid on its side.

With work you could remove the compressor and reinstall it so the fridge was designed to work lying down, however the very fact that you have asked the question makes me think that that kind of work is beyond your ability.

For a start, the Compressor would have to be upright, laying a Fridge on it's side would prevent the oil inside the Compressor doing it's job. As long as the Compressor is upright you can have the Fridge upside down if you wanted.
I asked a Fridge repair guy many years ago.

you would need to rearrange the compressor so its sitting upright

Bad question. Fridges are designed to operate in an upright position. But maybe there are fridges that are wider than they are high. Why not check on google if all you want is a fridge of different shape ?

You can not, it WILL ruin it. Tats why they say once you move it, let it sit 24 hours before plugging in.

You can't. The liquid in the pipes has to flow back to the compressor. This is achieved using gravity.
Once a fridge is away from the way the orientation it was meant to stand it won't work.

They make them but they function differently and you are most likely to find them on a nuclear sub they are electro thermal in nature.

Not really designed to work that way but, you might get lucky. If it is worth losing the fridge, go for it.
