My scalp is itching so badly and uncontrollably?

This issue has gotten worse in the past week or so. My scalp always itches and theres always flakes after a day of not washing. When I look at my scalp, its not red or anything - just the normal color its supposed to be, just with intense itchiness. Sometimes during the day I ll get an outbreak of "itchy" and it ll be so intense I ll have to just scratch that area for a bit until it goes away, usually in under a minute. I use all natural shampoo that has no sulfates, parabens, added colors, chemicals, etc. I ve tried head and shoulders and T-gel but nothing has worked. Quite honestly, going to the dermatologist wont do anything but waste money because I know I wont use any of the products they give me. Any natural suggestions?

This Arganrain shampoo smells nice and feels even nicer! I was intere sted in it because I seem to be suffering some dry scalp and/or dandruff. This went to work right away to soothe the itch ing and uncomfortableness, although not certain on the curing the dandruff, as I haven't used it long eno ugh to know. It smells pleasant enough and hasn't dried out the ends of my very long hair. My hair is soft and mana geable after use.

Before trying other treatments make sure you are using the dandruff shampoo correctly. Dandruff shampoos don't work by simply using them to wash your hair. The active ingredients need to be massaged into the skin in order to be effective. The "dosage" of the medication is affected by the amount of time the shampoo is massaged into the skin. Massage the shampoo into your scalp for 15-30 seconds, and then let the shampoo sit while you wash elsewhere. T-gel is a pretty effective shampoo for most types of dandruff, but when dandruff is caused by yeast, Nizoral is better than any other treatment - natural or otherwise.

I stopped using shampoo completely a year ago and my hair is healthier than ever. There's a horrible in between stage while your PH level evens out. Shampoos have harsh ingredients. I don't get dandruff anymore and my hair used to stop growing at my shoulders, now it's down to my waist.

Are you sure you don't have lice?

How many times do you shampoo when you are in the shower? Most shampoos say to rinse and repeat. This just makes your scalp drier and itch more. Using hot water will do the same. Unless your hair is very oily, don't use shampoo except for twice a week. Just rinse your hair in the shower. You could try washing with baking soda then using some cider vinegar to rinse with to see if this helps. Before shampooing, you could massage some coconut oil into your scalp.

When I was having a problem with itchy scalp the dermatologist prescribed a steroid shampoo to use a couple times a week and a foam to massage in twice a day for 2 weeks. This helped cure my itch. In fact
I used the sample shampoo she gave me and never filled the script for the shampoo as the sample work so well the itch was gone nearly after the first time I shampooed.

Head and Shoulders and things like that are for DANDRUFF from dry skin.. try a shampoo for PSORIASIS.

I'll bet you have a mild case of psoriasis, or possibly a milder daises sometimes called Pseudo-Psoriasis.

Talk to a pharmacist at CVS, Walgreen's, ow Walmart
