Consequences of being caught buying alcohol underage?

If they sold to you and a week later a cop got a tip that someone bought underage and investigated it what kind of trouble would that person be in?

If you get caught while doing it and the cops show up, that's one thing...but it's highly unlikely that cops really "crack down" on underage liquor purchases....unless of course the minor that you bought it for was in an accident or ratted you out and then the cops got involved. Still pretty unlikely.
