mark 5:1 till 5:11
5 They went across the lake to the region of the Gerasenes.[a] 2 When Jesus got out of the boat, a man with an impure spirit came from the tombs to meet him. 3 This man lived in the tombs, and no one could bind him anymore, not even with a chain. 4 For he had often been chained hand and foot, but he tore the chains apart and broke the irons on his feet. No one was strong enough to subdue him. 5 Night and day among the tombs and in the hills he would cry out and cut himself with stones.

6 When he saw Jesus from a distance, he ran and fell on his knees in front of him. 7 He shouted at the top of his voice, “What do you want with me, Jesus, Son of the Most High God? In God’s name don’t torture me!” 8 For Jesus had said to him, “Come out of this man, you impure spirit!”

9 Then Jesus asked him, “What is your name?”

“My name is Legion,” he replied, “for we are many.” 10 And he begged Jesus again and again not to send them out of the area.

11 A large herd of pigs was feeding on the nearby hillside. 12 The demons begged Jesus, “Send us among the pigs; allow us to go into them.” 13 He gave them permission, and the impure spirits came out and went into the pigs. The herd, about two thousand in number, rushed down the steep bank into the lake and were drowned.

Jesus has authority over the demons. He cast them out of the poor man whose life was a living hell because of them. The demons begged to be allowed to enter the large herd of pigs. They were allowed, but it was the demons who then caused those poor beasts to run down the hill as fast as their little piggy legs would go, to fall into the sea and drown. Blame the demons. They were responsible.

Jesus clearly values the salvation of one poor soul more than the lives of pigs who are going for the chop anyway. But the villagers were so upset at the source of their money being lost, they didn't want Jesus to stay. Never mind that the demon-possessed man was now found fully clothed, in his right mind, and sitting at Jesus' feet! Oh, what did they care about the miracle of grace towards that poor man! Not a whit! They were so utterly selfish, they only wanted rid of Jesus.

It's the same today. People only entertain the idea of Jesus if He does not challenge them to change and does not threaten their way of life. Jesus came to save sinners from their slavery to sin, but lots of people like sin. They do not want to have those chains smashed, as were the chains binding that poor man of Gadara. To face up to Jesus is to sit at His feet, with dignity, and with a cleansed mind and heart.

All our souls are impure. All our hearts are corrupted and deceitful, as the Bible has long told us. All of us need to humble ourselves before the Son of God, who came from Heaven to Earth to bring us back to God. And let the demons go to hell.

lol, you are asking a legit question about bible stuff, Good luck. Most on here are just trolls, lol.

FYI to both you and Oleg. Hercules is a guy from Greek mythology, nothing to do with Christianity.

The man's soul was not impure, he was possessed. He was not responsible for being possessed. The pigs did not sin. Animals don't sin.

The pigs did nothing wrong. The demons asked to enter the swine. Jesus put them in the position of swine just as they wanted. The terrified swine then drove the demons off the cliff. The strong-man was no more Herculean than Samson. Such strong men can be seen repeatedly in contemporary history playing in competitive sports.

What's really interesting to me about that happening is that Jesus wouldn't allow the strong man to follow him. It was not yet time for the gentiles to become a part of the Kingdom of God. Instead, Jesus asked him to spread the gospel of Christ in the gentile lands and the man faithfully obeyed. Also, consequent to the swine throwing themselves off the cliff, Jesus became unwelcome in that community becuase the people feared he would steal their livelihood. They didn't think to ask him for mercy and grace as we can do.
