Very small amount of water in the kettle, add the fruit, bring to a boil, cover tightly and cook over low heat till the water is gone.

EDIT for those of you who cannot imagine cooked fruit. people with gastro intestinal issues often need to eat cooked fruit because raw is simply too difficult to digest. ALSO patients with certain organ transplants cannot eat raw fruits or veggies for a certain length of time due to bacteria so its safer to eat it cooked. Raw may be good but its not for everyone.

Why did he say you needed to steam fresh fruit. That is very odd.

And steaming is steaming. Get a steaming basket.

That does not make sense or sound appetizing*, but probably the same way you steam vegetables.

* only maybe if stewing tomatoes, or making applesauce ... but steamed peaches? steamed oranges?

I would get a second opinion.

do you have a microwave? peel and chop the fruits into bite size chunks. Put in microwav bowl, cover with cling wrap, jab a couple holes in it and put in on high for about 3 minutes!! Do not add salt, sugar, water, anything else to the fruit or veggies before cooking! After they are done, you can season or flavor them to suit whatever else your doctor said you can eat. But I really want my fresh fruit raw!!

Same that you steam veggies.
Hm, that's interesting! Is it a fiber issue? Just wondering how cooked you need them. I'm guessing the easiest thing will be to microwave them.

You don't. I'm pretty sure he said fresh vegetables.
