Method 1 :

The volume of the 1 in 5 stock solution used = 0.25 ÷ (1/5) = 1.25 mL
Method 2 :
C₁ V₁ = C₂ V₂
V₁ = C₂ V₂ ÷ C₁
The volume of the 1 in 5 stock solution used, V₁ = (1/200) × 50 ÷ (1/5) mL = 1.25 mL
The mass of the solute in 50 mL of the 1 in 200 solution = 50 × (1/200) g = 0.25 g
