The equation 6xz2+yz+4xy−7z2=4 defines z as a function of x and near the point (x,y,z)=(1,1,1). The values of ∂z/∂y at the same point is a)10 b)8 c)3 d)5 e)12

6xz^2 + yz + 4xy - 7z^2 = 4
∂( 6xz^2 + yz + 4xy - 7z^2 ) / ∂y = ∂4 / ∂y
12xzu + z + yu + 4x - 14zu = 0 , where u = ∂z/∂y
Substitute (x,y,z) = (1,1,1) , we get
12u + 1 + u + 4 - 14u = 0
u = 5
