why do you ask people that "am I pretty"?

A good portion of my girl friends ask this for the literal, physical meaning. But another portion don't really mean so, but use it as a test. Does the other person give them the standard "yep you're so so beautiful" crap, or do they look further at who they are- and say so? I don't do it, really, but I'm sure you can tell which part I would be on if I did. :)

I have not seen those questions in quite a while ever since Donald Trump's rallies began making headline news. But whenever someone asks, I always provide them with an honest opinion. I believe that it is of the utmost necessity to give them honest feedback rather than a false sense of confidence, otherwise we would only be sending fake beauties into the world to wreak havoc upon the human species.
