need advice on how to do a working holiday/backpacking in the US?

Hey guys, im 19, im a young lad from australia and ive traveled a total of just over a year in the past 2 years. ive spent a combined 11 months in the US (student exchange, summer camp counselor, general holidaying) and 2 months in europe. I know all about how you have to get sponsored and the visas and whatnot, etc etc. what im curious about is how exactly do i do the whole backpacking/working holiday thing? i guess id have to organise a job before i go to the US in order to get sponsorship, but i dont want to stick with one job, i want to diversify and have a new one every week in a different place, is that possible? can i just go up to places and say hey, can i work for you for a week or month? Are you able to do that legally? where are the best places to work for a young australian male?

And the main reason is 1) i HATE working 9-5 at Kmart every day -_- and 2) my girlfriend lives in Texas, so maybe it would be better to organise a job there first, stay there for a couple weeks and then kick things off from there? I can't stay with her though, do i get an apartment by myself? or just go to airbnb?

The whole backpacking/working holiday thing doesn't exist.
You will not be able to jump from job to job. You won't find a visa for that.
No employer is going to want to hire you for 1/4 weeks anyway.
Going to university in the USA may not be an option for you do to the costs involved. You need to apply, be accepted, prove you can pay, then apply for a student visa. Cost to attend can easily be $40,000 per year.

no such animal as a working holiday in the US. only legal permanent residents with green cards and citizens can work.

with a tourist visa you can stay up to 6 months without having to leave, provided certain criteria are met. otherwise, under ESTA.. it is 90 days. multiple trips back and forth under ESTA can and does lead to DENIAL of entry for trying to skirt around the legal max you are allowed to visit
