Help What are the chances of me having Genital HSV1?

Back in Nov of 2014, I was diagnosed with HSV 1 through blood test. My boyfriend has herpes witlow finger so I'm assuming the virus is inside his body just not sure which one considering whitlow could be from HSV 1 OR 2. The other night after we had oral sex for the first time, I noticed he had what appeared to be a cold sore on his lip. What are the chances that he passed this to my genitals? I have made a Dr. Apt but it's in April. What are the chances he passed it to my genitals? Thanks in advance.

HSV1 typically causes herpes whitlow, not HSV2. If he didn t have a cold sore at the time he gave you oral sex then your chances of having HSV1 genitally are very low. If there was a visible cold sore on his mouth while he gave you oral sex, then your chances of getting it genitally are very high. Cold sores are more likely to be passed on while there s any signs or symptoms of a cold sore. When some one is in between break outs you re less likely to get it.
