Am I allowed to work extra hours?

Hi everyone,i work as an office worker for a company, now recently the company is in need of more budget, and I got this job 1 week ago,and I still feel like I'm not productive enough, however I noticed the more paperwork I do,the more I learn about how to do my job better, but I'm learning slowly because I don't have have enough work time(only 7 hours),I figured that if I ask my boss to allow me to work for extra hours I can both help my company & gain more experience, however I have a few questions:

1-am I actually allowed to work for longer hours? I'm willing to work extra hours without asking for an extra pay,so,will my boss accept my offer of working for more hours? Will she allow it?

2-can I work on Saturdays & holidays as well?

3-can I take some of the paperwork to my home,so that I can work there as well?

4-I'm willing to work for 4 extra hours, but am I allowed to work for that long?

5-despite working for just 7 hours, because of the company I work for,and the importance of the paperwork i do,I have a really good wage, and I usually just buy food,Internet, pay the bills and in general I just pay for the necessities of life,I don't waste my money with movies, video games and I don't watch much TV,so I have a really great financial situation, however as already said,my company's financial situation is becoming worse each day,so in an effort to help my company, can I ask my boss to temporarily decrease my wage/pay?

6-in what other ways can I help my company?

I have exactly the same sentiments as everyone particularly with the question as to why you want to work extra hours unpaid. But you can try to ask your boss about it nonetheless.

You can ask, but VERY unlikely she'll say yes. And if she lets you, by law she has to pay you, whether at home or in the office.

Are you insane? 1) No 2) No 3) Hell no - it's a security risk 4) See 1 & 2 5) No. They won't appreciate it anyway and the company's financial problems are not your concern. 6) Show up on time. Give them a full day's work for a day's pay. Keep their financial problems to yourself. They should not be discussed with others. The owners of the company are the ones that may need to take a pay cut.

Actually you cant work extra hours for no pay. It is illegal and the company can get in trouble

If you are an hourly employee, the company would be required to pay you for the extra hours. They may not be willing to do that. Your age may also be a factor if you are under 18.
