My dog ate chocolate cereal! Help!?

The cereal says it's chocolate flavouring, with a chocolate and hazelnut filling. He only ate one small square, but I'm still terrified! He's a springer-spaniel.... Will he die

I seriously doubt that eating ONE square will affect your dog in any way, so don't panic and have thoughts that he might die.

If it says 'flavouring' as most confectionary and cereal usually is, then that's all it is. Although some dogs, small and getting into a LOT of dark chocolate may collapse immediately, most dogs will only if at all, have some diarrhoea and it's over. It's the result of eating chocolate over a long time that allows the toxins to build up in the system that can do damage.

Just keep an eye on him over the next couple of days. He'll be fine. I'd suggest the sugar content in cereal could do him more harm than 'flavouring'.

Nope!
Just don't let him eat too much - its full of sugar and nightmare on his digestion system

He will be fine. My chihuahua ate a whole chocolate bar once. Sneaky little **** climbing up the table like a spider...

Probably not, but if you're concerned, call your vet, for advice, phone calls are free.

Be more responsible in the future and don't allow this to happen again.

Don't feed your dog chocolates any chocolaty flavor. It's extremely dangerous to them. Just always monitor your dog on what he eating.
