I can help you out with this. I'm going to just do what I'm about to instruct you to do, then you will know how to do this for yourself next time. =)
Also, I'm only going to choose games that either I'm familiar with, have played, or have done research on and would suggest to someone.
So here is how YOU can do it.
1. Go to
www.ign.com
2. Click on the "Reviews" button near the top.
3. Click which platform/genre you want. This can be done by clicking the "more options" button to get a full list of what you can search for.
4. In this case, you would want to click "PS3/Xbox 360" and also click "RPGs".
5. Once that's done, all you need to do is click the the sorting button that makes the top games jump to the top of the list. I think it's called "Review Score" or something like that.
Anyways, here are the best RPGs you can buy for Xbox 360, including the ones you may already know....
1. Mass Effect 2. Haven't played much of this myself (yet), but the entire trilogy is worth playing. You may want to consider getting all of the free DLC for Mass Effect 3. I hear the original ending is quite disappointing.
2. Skyrim (Frankly, for High Fantasy RPG, it doesn't get any better than Skyrim, as of March 2016)
3. Oblivion. Same thing goes for this one. If you can get over the graphics, completionist gameplay on this game goes into the hundreds of hours.
4. South Park: The Stick of Truth. This game is not only hilariously funny, but it manages to have solid RPG mechanics. You will laugh your way through this game, and stay engaged with the timed-defense combat, which is really cool to me. Only problem with this game is it's short, somewhere between 10-20 hours. You can get a lot more time out of it though, if you play as all of the classes, and even moreso if you climb the difficulties starting from the bottom.
5. Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning. This one I can't say much about personally. I played the demo and didn't care for it that much. However, many people adore this game as an "unsung hero". I did really enjoy the combat in it. I believe this game has more potential than what I saw.
6. Final Fantasy XIII. Now, people nickname this game more like "Final Hallway XIII" because of how linear the game is. Literally, there is hardly any room for exploration. The graphics are amazing, as all Final Fantasy Games since FF7 and up manage to do. I would recommend any Final Fantasy game for this list. (Personally, I would prefer Final Fantasy X-X2 HD Remaster)
7. Dragon Age: Origins. Again. I didn't spend much time with this game, and the small bit of time I did spend wasn't good. However, I still own the game and it's coming up close to being next after I complete Skyrim. I think like Kingdoms of Amalur, there is some potential here. Some people regard it as the best High Fantasy RPG to ever have been released. I can't say I agree with that statement yet.
8. The Witcher 2: Assassin of Kings Enhanced Edition. I maybe spent an hour on this game. I've also dabbled around with the Witcher 3 (which I'd also suggest to buy) but I just haven't been able to get into them. I sold Witcher 2, no more 360 so I can't try it anymore. I hear Witcher 3 is easier, so if you get a XB1 or whatever, be sure to get it. It's fantastic. (even though I don't see it yet haha)
9. Dragon Age II. Now I played the demo for this game. What really stood out for me, having played a bit of Origins before this, was the excellent combat mechanics. They were really flashy, but it looked epic.
10. Fable III. I have spent hundreds of hours on this game. I played alone, I played with friends, I played with lovers, I played with strangers! This game has a great mixture between "RPG" and "Reality". It's also comical by nature. Want to be a warrior? An archer? A mage? A mixture of two? Perhaps all three simultaenously? You can do that. You can become business partners with a friend, or even get married to a player (or an AI companion is available, have you not have someone real to marry or no internet). The nice thing is, you can play this two-player while sharing the same screen! Anything you want to do, you set out to do it. You're in charge. You're the king of Albion. But being King is not as easy as it might seem... It's definitely my favorite Fable Game so far.
11. Fallout: New Vegas. This game I didn't enjoy as much as Fallout 3 (which I suggest, as well as Fallout 4 on XB1 one day). Something just seemed wrong with it. It didn't feel as smooth as what I was used to with its prequel. However, it introduced Hardcore Mode, which turned the game into the ultimate survival experience. You have to watch your weight in bullets, keep yourself fed, hydrated and rested, as well as keep your radiation poisoning to a minimum, otherwise you could die or pass out.
12. Uh, the last one I'd suggest is Dragon's Dogma. It's basically a blend between your typical third-person RPG and Shadow of the Colossus.
Hope this helped! Take care.
