Can I bring my car in to a mechanic for a recall for my 1997 Jeep Grand Cherokee?
It is a used Jeep that I had bought last year and I was curious if there were any recalls for them and there were a few. I was just wondering if considering the age, it being used, and the time since the recall if that's still something I could or should do?

You call a Jeep dealer service department and give them the VIN so they can look to see if there are any "open recalls" on that vehicle.

A Jeep dealer might be able to look up whether the recalls were done on that vehicle.
It's likely that the Chrysler/Dodge/Jeep dealerships will still have the info or a database that goes back into the 90's on how to repair the recalls. Try calling and asking your local Chrysler dealership service department.
in theory a recall never goes out of date
you must go to a dealer and not just any mechanic for recall work
Dealership - preferably same automaker!
