The pH of the solution depends on the following reversible reaction :
CH₃COOH(aq) + H₂O(aq) ⇌ CH₃COO⁻(aq) + H₃O⁺(aq)

The addition of chloride ion does not affect the above reaction, if the volume of the solution remains unchanged. Therefore, the pH of the acetic acid solution remains unchanged.
