More like Ronald McDonald than Adolf Hitler.

No, it's not the same. Hitler hypnotized the large majority of Germans, the only Americans that fall for Trump's tales are people who were already hypnotized by conservatism.

Hitler was a politician that got the people to believe his ideology, Trump is just a big businessman trying to sell his product...himself.

No matter how bad people believe career politicians are, a career big businessman as President would be even worse for the American people, big business is what's ruining the world. Not to mention, Trump has led 4 different companies into bankruptcy.

Doesn't take much to do that, compared to the 1930s. We're all pre-conditioned to be hypnotized--by television.

Hitler was better looking.

yes but Trump hasn't reached as many people as Hitler did

He's appealing to the same segments of the population: those who think the present government is bad, and needs to be replaced with a strong leader who will speak out for them.

Sure he has that charismatic authority, but so did Jesus.

Nonsense.

Trump's objective is to be elected President and then hold the position under the Constitution in a liberal democracy.

Hitler's aim was to use the democratic process to gain power, and then destroy the liberal democratic constitution of Weimar Germany, establishing an extreme nationalist dictatorship with an ideology based on an absurd racial theory.

Trump's background as a successful businessman seems to be something that everyone forgets about - he doesn't really want to build a wall between Mexico and US,forcebily deport 11 million illegal immigrants,or ban Muslims from entering US.High powered business deals at the top end (something Trump is very, very good at making) start with an outrageous opening position, with the proposer then having room to negotiate down to get what they really want.

This is clearly what Trump is doing - if he gets to be President, everyone will see these as his 'policy' positions and will be more than relieved when he makes 'concessions' that apparently fall way short of his original position - but the end result will be an agreement that gives Trump what he was really after in the first place.

Trump isn't hypnotizing anyone - he's scaring the Bejesus out of the traditional politicians and Wall Street moghuls who disregard public opinion and well being so as to perpetuate their domination of the political agenda and keep things as they are, with them on top with all the power and all the money. The Same old - Same olds who can't get anything done (despite it being a key public pronouncement that helped him get elected in 2008 Obama still hasn't closed down Gitmo) are terrified Trump is going to end all this.

People in US want change - and they're not going to get it with a Clinton or traditional Republican as President.
