Let c and r be the number of chicken and the number of rabbits respectively.
c + r = 35 ...... [1]
2c + 4r= 94 ...... [2]
[1]*2 :
2c + 2r = 70 ...... [3]
[2] - [3] :
2r = 24
r = 12
Sub. r = 12 into [1] :
c + 12 = 35
c = 23
Number of chickens = 23
Number of rabbits = 12
c + r = 35 ...... [1]
2c + 4r= 94 ...... [2]
[1]*2 :
2c + 2r = 70 ...... [3]
[2] - [3] :
2r = 24
r = 12
Sub. r = 12 into [1] :
c + 12 = 35
