Who was in the wrong? Kinda long but please read?!?

My mum and I usually have a good relationship, although we do argue sometimes. Recently we've been arguing a lot more than usual like today she came into my room and started yelling at me today for not practicing my piano (I have an exam in a few weeks) but I was doing homework so I said I would do it it in a minute. After 10 minutes I went downstairs to get a glass of water before I started practicing and she started shouting at me some more and called me a horrible little brat, she then went on t tell me how my exam results were shite (I got 6 A's and 2 B's) and she can see why cause I have no respect for nothing then said "I can see why you have no friends, I certainly wouldn't want to be friends with you" and left. She knows that's a touchy subject for me as I had a falling out with my previous friend group and have found it difficult to make friends since. Was she wrong to say this or was I wrong?

She was very cruel to say something like that to her daughter. Your mother sounds like so many women that use words to emotionally manipulate the people in their lives rather than talking to them. This is a learned behavior that her mother probably used on her as well. If you ever have children don't make the same mistake. By the way you don't sound like a horrible little brat to me!OOOXXX

I am a parent, and there are many methods for motivating kids that do NOT involve emotionally abusing them, which is what she did. You may tell your mother I said so.

your mom is being verbally abusive, if you tell cps about all this you might not have to live with her

She was obviously in the wrong. I don't understand why she was upset with you for studying and those are amazing grades. Your mom sounds like something else is bothering her and she's taking it out on you.
