(2x + 3)(3x + 4) =
6x^2 + 8x + 9x + 12 =
6x^2 + 17x + 12.
(2x + 3)(3x +4)
= 2x(3x + 4) + 3(3x + 4)
= 6x² + 8x + 9x + 12
= 6x² + 17x + 12
6x^2+8x+9x+12=6x^2+17x+12
Using the FOIL method, you would multiple the first two numbers together, then the outer ones, then the inner ones, and finally the last ones.
In other words, you multiple the first number in the parenthesis (2x in this case) to the first number in the other set of parenthesis (3x) and the outer one (4), then repeat this with the 3 in the (2x + 3).
So that being said,
(2x + 3)(3x + 4)
is equal to
(2x * 3x) + (2x + 4) + (3 * 3x) + (3 * 4)
= 6x^2 + 8x + 6x + 12
Adding both x's gives you the final answer of:
6x^2 + 14x + 12
Hope this helped.
