Is it ok for my dog to sleep on top of his wire kennel?
My dogs is 50lbs and has a Top Paw, double-door kennel that s probably a little on the larger side for him. Recently he has started getting on top of it because it sits next to our couch. We try to get him down because we are worried he will fall or the kennel will break, but he does it when our backs are turned and we often find him sleeping on top of it or looking out the window. I think he likes being up high. Should I be worried and make him get down or no? I don t want him to get hurt, but I don t want to take away his comfy spot or fun if it s not something to worry about.

I'd put a blanket or flat bed on it to make it more comfortable for him. Hopefully, it's sturdy enough to hold him. Some dogs do like to get up high. My Cattle Dogs enjoy sitting/laying on the back of my couch and looking out the window or sleeping. Right beside the cats.
If he likes being up there and it's not going to collapse from his weight (which it might!), then best I can suggest is you put a wooden base board up there and a pad of some sort, to prevent his paws/legs from slipping through the wire of the crate, or move it (so he can't see out of the window which is probably why he's up there). I'd be concerned about him jumping down and injuring himself.
Constant supervision, contain when you can't.
I'd put a blanket or bed of some kind on top. This is his preferred spot, make it comfortable.
I'd assume this dog's a normal dog - can jump off the couch or bed, etc., he's fine.
