Let x ft be the length of the shadow.

The man is vertical, while the shadow is horizontal.
Hence, a right-angled triangle is formed.
With respect to the angle 11°20', the man is the opposite side, while the shadow is the adjacent side.

tan11°20' = 5.5/x
x = 5.5/tan11°20'
x = 27.4

Length of the shadow = 27.4 ft
