He pays for everything and think it's his job?

It's totally disrespectful towards you. He feels that he's only good enough if he buys you. Relationships should be 50/50 financially. I'd never trust people who try to buy me off in any way.
On the other hand, some people like to be bought and paid for because they need to be supported. If you like that then go for it. However, he'll never see you as equal and will always need to have power over you in some way.

Guys like to feel more in power when they are in a relationship. You can also do surprise things for him like order a pizza and pay for it when he isn't around. Just try to find little ways to fulfill your needs and his.
