Hey what does it mean when one of your eyes is completely bloodshot but the other is white?

One time I was smoking marijuana with one of my friends. We were planning on opening up a bar in his apartment for some extra pocket cash, and as i was explaining how to go about it he looked at me like he was really excited or something but his left eye was completely bloodshot while the other was normal (not red at all).

Does this mean something? Did i make him go insane? Im just wondering because Ive seen it in cartoons but I dont know what it means.
