Will my father have to serve jail time? If so for how long?

I am uneducated and not sure how the court system works, i am very frighten for my father.
there was a conflict that had happen between him and my mother.

it was over the dumbest thin ever letting the water run.

Mother was doing dishes allowing the water to drain out.
father inform her to stop because he doesnt want water bill to explode.

They have 2 pink slips from water company.
mom told father i am going to let the water run while i do dishes and i dont have to listen to you
so one thing led to another,

anyways mom had huffed her chest at dad and dad backed her away.
mom kept going at dads face.

dad press her away which made her fallen to the ground and she claims she shoved her right leg in dads face while on the ground to block from dad going at her,
Brother said she used her leg to antagonize dad which had boiled him up and made him grab her ankle causing her to twist a certain way and sprain it

My dumb teenager bro got scared and called the police and now my father is being detained at jail until court hearing tommrow.

This is second time father has went to jail due to my mother antagonize my father.

My question is..

Knock on wood but if all goes good will my dad get set free after court tommrow?

Or..for domestic violence of hurting my mother twice by her antagonize him will the judge keep him in jail? and if so how long does a person stay in jail for 2 domestic violence, even if the issue is just a wife antagonizing their husband.
