Keyboard problem with Dell Laptop (Windows 8)?

When I go to type, my keyboard types multiple of whatever letter or number I type. Such as when I go to type a it types aaaaaaa or when I type 8 it types 88888888. Same with all the other keys. I don t know how this came about. I ve done nothing different than usual on my computer, I was going to search something and it does this, even on notes. I need help getting the keys to type normally, how can I fix this? Does anyone have any ideas?

Plug in an external keyboard, if the external Kbd is normal you gave a hardware fault and the laptop keyboard needs replacing.
If an external Kbd gives the same then run a repair using a recovery USB

Maybe your keyboard buttons are getting stuck or you could have a virus on your computer.
