Is prozac safe to take?

It's only deadly if it inspires you to kill yourself. Taking the pills is physically very safe. It's not always pleasant, but it won't kill you.

if it wasn't safe to take i doubt doctors would prescribe it and if it's taken properly it should pose no side effects

Your doctor prescribed it because it will help you.

The problem with antidepressants such as prozac is that sometimes people are depressed and suicidal, so they're too depressed to actually act on the suicidal ideas, but once they start to get better from the antidepressants, they start doing thing again, including killing themselves.

If you have plans to kill yourself, tell your doctor or call 911. The medication isn't going to make you suicidal from nothing.
