With a SINGLE action Pistol OR Revolver, one MUST manually pull (cock) the hammer back to firing position before pulling the trigger.

DOUBLE action means that you can fire the weapon starting with the hammer down by JUST a pull of the trigger (although usually with a much harder pull)

The 1911 pistol is SINGLE ACTION because you MUST manually cock the hammer before you can fire the first shot. After the first shot, the slide pulls the hammer back for subsequent shots, but it's STILL a single action pistol.

Single action.

Single action. The hammer is c0cked by the slide when it cycles, which is why it fires every time you pull the trigger despite the trigger only being able to drop the hammer. If you dec0ck the pistol manually it won't fire until you either rec0ck the hammer or rack the slide.

Single on the first shot, semi-auto after that.

Most are gonna be double action unless for some reason there is a model where you have to cock the hammer each time, which I highly doubt just because it is a semi auto pistol

double action, it is a semi automatic weapon.
