How many dimensions are we aware of? Are there more?

Well, ..., we physically recognize 4 dimensions Length, Width, Height, and Time. Depending on who you talk to there could be 9, 12, or N dimensions. However, any thing beyond 4 dimensions is very difficult to conceptualize.

I have a friend who is a both an Astrophysicist and a Cosmologist and he claims the universe a 9th dimensional structure.

They may have "tested" using very high level maths and got a mathematical solution but this does not "prove" that other dimensions really exist. Even if they do, it is impossible for us 3-Dimensional critters to visualize any beyond 3 + time, our 4th dimension (which is no doubt disputed by string theorists)

string theorist have been testing (well trying lol) with up to 12 dimensions, also claiming that all the dimensions are connected through well strings of space and time. we live in a 3 dimensional world, where on a daily basis we observe in 3-d. It was not until we started delving into space and time, and quantum physics that we discovered that there could be many, many more dimensions. But the thing is, are dimensions just things we perceive, or are they entirely different worlds? (depends on who you ask)

Quantum Many Worlds Theory says there may be an infinite number of dimensions co-existing in a Multiverse-- each one only slightly different from the others. Worlds where Hitler won the war or Napoleon took over Europe or Abraham Lincoln wasn't killed but merely grazed by the bullet... In an infinite multiverse, anything is possible. There may be dimensions where Captain Kirk and Spock are real as is the Doctor ("Doctor Who") or even Howard the Duck.

Psychic people often function through at least five dimensions. And those few rare people who can teleport-- "jumpers"-- move through a Riemann space of N-th dimensions where all points touch, so teleportation from point A to point B is instantaneous.

People have been know to walk around corners, get into cars, climb up hills, etc-- and simply disappear; sometimes in front of witnesses. So most likely there are "breaks" or warps that allow people to enter into other universes o, like in the case of the British Spring-heeled Jack, to allow beings from other universes to come here. It may be that the only difference between here and anywhere else is only our limited perception of "reality."

I know there are more than five. Each of the four dimensions that we can normally account for, are stacked "artifacts" of the previous dimension. Like zero dimension, is a point, stacked, it is a line, the first dimension. Likewise to the second (a plane) to the third (space). The fourth dimension is the first problem in that particular hypothesis. We know the fourth must be a "stacking" of four relationships in the way that a space is defined by four points. So I'm hypothesizing that there are four fourth dimensional realities and that they co-exist in a common real time in the local Universe. That is OUR reality, fourth dimensional=time, IN space which describes and anticipates a fifth dimension.

Yes. As many people know that there are many dimensions in the world, but only few know the reality of 4 dimension. Many people who have found saying they have encountered with the unknown or evil, they have in reality seen the happenings in the 4 dimension. This dimension opens rarely due to some kind of unexplained reasons. But seeing that dimension is like seeing TV. Nothing would happen if you see across that dimension. When I have shown him my hands, he at once said that somethings following me. I Am really horrified. But I can't do anything. Many people think that I am a portal between the two dimensions. You are confusing "Dimensions" with "Parallel Universes"----This is understandable because these "parallel universes" lay in the DIRECTION of the 4th spacial dimension.

Work with Metric Tensors (see Michio Kaku's Book, "Hyperspace") suggest that there are at least 11 "directions" or dimensions (9 at the time of the books writing) The real number, based on symmetry would likely be 12. These are functions of forces in the universe and the closest thing we have to UFT Physics.

Actual Parallel universes could happen in various ways, Remember that there is no such thing as "Solid " matter. Everything is waves at its ultimate "particle" level "Solidity" is only an illusion based on opposing forces. One type of parallel universe might be due to that all particles have WAVE attributes (Frequency, polarity, phase, etc.) Only those particles in which these attributes MATCH are "interactive" or "Real" relative to each other.
This means that Many universes, just as real as our own, in the absolute sense, might exist with their own planets, stars and galaxies in essentially the SAME space--and not be "real" or interactive relative to other universes. Each universe consisting of a SET of particles with matching wave attributes that control relative reality---Not unlike the wave signals from several different radio stations that fill the air around us--the only one being "Real" is the one our radio is tuned to. We are tuned to OUR universe by virtue of the particles in our bodies and senses being made of the same stuff as the world around us.

Other parallel universes may be "frame universes"---Essentially our own universe, in a different instant of Time, for example. How many Parallel Universes? Hard to say---A LOT. The regular "Parallel universes above could number in the Thousands or more---depending on the range of attribute values that would produce functional universes---Not unlimited, but many---waves beneath or above a threshold may not work.

Frame universes could be many more, as there would be one for EACH instant of time.---not infinite, but close.

The "Quantum event" splintering theory of our universe is probably bogus, however as there are just too many possibilities to be practical.
