first, before panicking make sure your thermometer is accurate.
Second, if the chili is in a deep pot and you did not cool it down before putting it in the fridge, it may well be 57 degrees.
there are many ways to quick chill foods that are used in food service. One we used was never put enough water into a soup when the soup was finished we put ice in it to equal the amount of water it was lacking. by the time the ice was melted, the soup was cool enough to put into the fridge and would reach proper temp quickly. the other was to pour the hot food into shallow pans so the soup/chili/hot gravy exposed more surface and chilled faster. both methods work at home too and with a little practice you can avoid what happened to you.

That's weird.
If the health dept inspected You, it would not be okay, but I say, there is enough salt, acid, and spice to keep much from growing. When You reheat it, make sure it boils for ten minutes, that way in case anything made its way in there, You'll be all good.

No. Your fridge is not working right, or the door was not sut all the way.

It will be fine - it was pasteurized in the cooking process - there is plenty of acid and salt - no worries I do this all the time for the last 30 yrs no problem
