How to publish a collection of poems for Middle Grade level readers?

I've written a collection of poems targeted towards Middle Grade readers, somewhat influenced by Shel Silverstein's Where the Sidewalk Ends. I have a manuscript prepared, just as I would with a normal fiction book, but I'm not sure how to present it and which publishers are the best for accepting poetry collections for this age group. Any advice?

Go to your local library. In their reference section is a book called Writers Market 2016. Turn to the publisher section and go down the list for what genre each focuses on. There is also a book called Children's Writer And Illustrator 2016 book you can use as well.

You can self publish or yo can get an agent and have them shop the collection for you.
You can also submit a few of the poems to a literary or scholastic magazine and develop a name for yourself. That will let publishers know who you are and that you are worth the risk.

I am curious on why you would want to write a whole collection of poems without exploring the BUSINESS side of writing. This month's edition of Writer's Digest is devoted to just this subject. There is also a good article on it in Poets & Writers. Both are at your local bookstore and should already be known to you.
