Can the council speak to my neighbours if they think I have another dog?

Last week I almost got caught having another dog. I said it wasn't mine. They said if they suspect I have another dog, they'll just start doing random visits. Obviously what that says to me is "ignore the door, if it's a parcel, you can go pick it up".....but if I ignore the door, can they go and ask my neighbour if I have another dog? I know my. I can't get in trouble cause how do they know I'm ignoring the door. If I don't know they're coming, I could genuinely be out! Don't want moral comments how I'm breaking the lease or shouldn't have another one. I do and she's beautiful and she's staying!

Yes, they can.
It is very easy to tel if a person has more than one dog, especially if you ignore the door. Usually a dog will bark at the door when the bell rings, and if they hear more than one dog barking, they will know you have another dog.
its great that you have opened your heart to this other dog, but you may want to look at other living places that allow more than one dog.

Of course they can.
If you ahve over your limits then you need to get rid of the dog or they will evict you since you snuck another dog in despite knowing you can't have it

Just answered your other question about trying to "register" this DO NOTHING dog as a "therapy" dog. Therapy dogs are trained dogs that bring therapy to OTHERS and have no "rights" to stay in a place that only allows 2 dogs. Same if you lie and says she's an "ESA" dog. If you "need" a dog for your "anxiety" your other TWO DOGS are plenty. So sick of people like you.

While you MIGHT get away with saying she's being babysat for relatives while they're on vacation that won't be a long term thing. They can evict you or worse.
