For my 16th birthday, my grandparents are taking me to Disneyland in California. I am really thankful and excited to go with my grandparents, but the issue is i haven't been to the park for 7 years. Would any of you recommend good rides? 2 things to keep in mind, 1. When it comes to roller coasters, Splash mountain is as far as i can go. 2. I have a large appetite and don't mind gaining a few pounds, Recommendations for restaurants please? I love meat thank you very much!

Honestly, all of the rides aren't that scary. I'd say Splash Mountain is one of the scariest ones at Disneyland. Everything else is either less or about as intense. Maybe Space Mountain (Hyperspace Mountain, currently) is a little scarier to some people, but it's an amazing ride and it's dark and a lot of fun. I suggest you go on it if you get the chance.

I think if you're only there for a day, there's a few rides, in my opinion that you should think about going on in that limited time.
-Peter Pan's Flight
-Alice in Wonderland
-Mad Tea Party
-It's A Small World
-Matterhorn
-Space Mountain
-Star Tours
-Indiana Jones
-Big Thunder Mountain Railroad
-Jungle Cruise
-Pirates of the Caribbean

I love every ride though, so much! Honestly, it's no fun listening to other people's advice. The only real must-do is Indiana Jones. Otherwise, it's the best when you can do whatever you feel like doing that day. If you want, look up a list of the rides on the Disneyland website. Read through it and see what interests you. Make the day yours but don't stress too much about getting it "must-dos"! There's so many chill things you can do besides rides too! Go find your favorite Disney characters roaming around (my favs are always the Mad Hatter and Alice and Peter Pan). Eat a churro and people watch. Get a Dole Whip and watch the Enchanted Tiki Room show. Go make a wish at Snow White's Wishing Well. Walk through the castle at the Sleeping Beauty Walkthrough. Find time to visit the parked Rivers of America ships now that the river is closed for the construction of Star Wars Land. Get ice cream and watch cast members make candy at a Main Street Window. Catch the Dapper Dans. Watch ALL the night shows! The night shows for the 60th anniversary (Paint the Night parade and the fireworks) are amazing.
Tip: Watch paint the night along the main street shops. Then, after the parade passes, rush out into the middle of the street to watch the fireworks.
Seriously though, just make the day yours :)

I wish Big Thunder Ranch wasn't closed, otherwise I would have suggested the all you can eat BBQ.

For food, I'd suggest going to New Orleans Square, the Blue Bayou if you want to splurge on the atmosphere and get a reservation in advance. Otherwise, I really enjoy Cafe Orleans. As a meat lover, I totally suggest getting the Monte Cristo Sandwich. It's deep fried and has huge portions. Google that ("monte cristo disneyland") and feast your eyes on one of the most delicious and beloved food items in the park.
Another favorite is the Plaza Inn on Main Street. The restaurant was Walt Disney's favorite in the park and the fried chicken is a fan favorite to this day.

You should be aware that a lot of attractions at Disneyland are closed while they build the new Star Wars attraction.

You will certainly want to go on the updated Star Tours, the Haunted Mansion is always great, and if you don't have to wait in line too long, Pirates of the Caribbean is fun.

I think the best restaurant in the park is the Blue Bayou (some people prefer the Cafe Orleans, but you can't beat the ambiance of the Blue Bayou. You will definitely need reservations, so make your reservations there before you go, or first thing when you arrive.

If you want to leave the park, you can go to the Napa Rose in the Grand Californian Hotel. Your grandparents can get a glass of wine with lunch there. There are trams, but it is only about a five minute walk from the Park.
