The height of a falling sheet of paper, in feet from the ground, is given by
s(t) = −1.2t + 6
(a) What is the velocity of the sheet of paper?: ft/sec
(b) How high is it after 2 seconds?: ft

(c) When will it reach the ground?
t = : sec

a) 1.2 ft/sec
b) s(2) = -1.2(2) + 6 = 3.6'
c) 0 = -1.2t + 6
1.2t = 6
t = 5 seconds
2016-02-01 8:05 pm
s(t) = −1.2t + 6

a. v(t) = ds(t) /dt = -1.2

b. s(2) = -1.2(2) + 6 = -2.4 + 6 = 3.6

c. when it reaches the ground s(t) = 0 = -1.2t + 6
or -1.2t = -6
t = -6/-1.2 = 5 secs
2016-02-01 7:56 pm
(a) -1.2
(b) -1.2*2 + 6 = 3.6
(c) -1.2t + 6 = 0, to 1.2t = 6, to t = 6/1.2 = 5

hint:
v(t) = s'(t)
