UK broadband question?

We are moving into a different house soon. current house owner apparently uses BT (broadband and maybe landline) but we'd like to keep continuing use VirginMedia.

Does it mean we'll have to have some work done by VirginMedia inside the house when we move to the different house?
Or would it be pretty simple as there is already BT broadband?
