It all depends on what you're interested in! Each country offers a different experience. If you're studying a foreign language, it would be beneficial to study in a country that allows you to practice your language skills. However, if language skills are not a concern for you, you can use factors such as location, climate, and cultural differences to narrow down your choices. AFS Intercultural Programs has a lot of great programs in over 40 countries all over the world, and their programs focus on a variety of areas. They also offer a lot of support and assistance financially for their participants. You should check out what they have to offer.

Which language(s) are you fluent in at a high academic-technical level of proficiency? You must be fluent in the language.

Study abroad is a luxury, and you always pay for your luxuries. Even where there is "tuition-free" undergraduate education for foreign students, you must have sufficient funds for all fees, books, equipment, supplies, health insurance, and all your living expenses. In Europe, you will need at least EUR2000-3000/month for basic living expenses - housing, utilities, food, etc. Depending on the climate you come from & where you go, you may need a completely new wardrobe, e.g. for winter weather, and that alone can set you back a couple thousand Euro, pounds, dollars.

It is almost always cheaper to study in your country of citizenship than study abroad. If you don't have ample funds, it is pointless to try to study abroad. Proof of sufficient funds for all school & living expenses, plus return transportation to your country of citizenship, without working!, is mandatory to apply for any student visa, if any school accepts you.

Your options depend on what languages you speak fluently, what you want to study, and your budget.
