Plus: you can choose the weather you like, the university might or might not be better I've had a really good and a really bad experience studying in the UK, no bad experience studying in the US so far, don't really know how representative that is. You can live abroad without learning a new language

Minus: tuition fees will be exorbitant, your ability to work severely limited, you will have to get and maintain a student visa and you quite possibly will have to return the UK after studying.

Generally I would not recommend to go to the US for an undergraduate degree. Graduate degree can be OK if the program you are in pays for your tuition and a stipend. Some do. Also with a graduate degree you might have a chance of getting an H1B visa after your studies.

Why would you want to go somewhere with a worse education rating than the county you're in?

UK is 20th in the world, USA 28th.

There aren't any which is why so many American students study at Oxford, Cambridge, etc.

Before you consider "3 sensible reasons" the first one should be your finances.
If you have enough money to finance living and studying in the USA, then you
could consider other sensible reasons.
You would need to have enough funds to live on and off campus for the length
of your studies, you would need to buy medical health insurance, no NHS in
the USA. Basicly you would need about £250,000 up front before the USA
would consider letting you in.

I can think of a million reasons why I wouldn't, certainly not 3 reason why I would want to and no "sensible" ones....
